Emily was a computer science graduate who worked a few years in the IT and marketing related field before deciding to do career switch. She was fascinated by the complexity of the human mind and was also inspired to make a positive difference in the lives of others. That motivated her to embark upon a journey into the world of psychology, which led to her Master degree in Psychology (Counselling).
Emily has worked with clients who struggle with mental health issues (e.g., distress, depression, anxiety, insomnia, trauma etc), poor coping and adjustment difficulties (e.g., grief and bereavement) as well as other general issues (e.g., assertiveness, poor self-esteem, interpersonal issues, culture/intergenerational differences, poor health management).
Emily has successfully guided clients to develop better self-awareness and enhanced ability to manage their life challenges. It was heartening for her to come across with clients who reported about the improvement which they never thought before. She employs integrative approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, psychodynamic approach, mindfulness- based approach, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing etc.
