Angie is a Professional Counsellor at the Singapore Counselling Centre. She holds a Master of Social Science in Professional Counselling, with a specialisation in CBT from Swinburne University of Technology.
Angie has worked extensively with clients of various nationalities from all walks of life and applies a variety of modalities to meet clients’ specific needs. These modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt Therapy and EMDR, a therapeutic approach for the resolution of trauma, anxiety and other long-held issues.
Her clinical interests include trauma intervention, depression, anxiety disorders, relationship issues as well as growth and development. She is committed to assisting individuals grow into well-balanced, curious, compassionate persons with self-esteem and confidence, empowering them to move forward in life through the process of awareness, resolving repetitive patterns of negative responses, discovering their own inherent potential and strengths, having meaningful relationships, and living successful lives in the community.
Angie believes in the mind-body connection and provides clients with practical tools to achieve therapy goals. To assist children with socio-emotional challenges, she uses, principally, Expressive Arts Therapy in a safe and supportive environment.
Prior to her current work as a Therapist, Angie has had extensive experience in Education, Communication, Theatre and the Arts, and was actively involved in adult and youth voluntary ministries. She is able to conduct counselling sessions in English, French and Malay.
