When you are in the middle of it, it can feel like the rest of the world has moved on while you are still standing in the same place, trying to make sense of something that may not make sense at all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">There is no right way to grieve, and no fixed timeline for when it should be over.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Loss can take many forms. You may be grieving:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\">\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\"><strong>The death of someone you love<\/strong> \u2013 A parent, partner, child, sibling, friend, or colleague, whether sudden or after a long illness<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\"><strong>Pregnancy loss<\/strong> \u2013 Miscarriage, stillbirth, or the loss of a pregnancy at any stage, which can be a deeply painful and often private grief<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\"><strong>Pet loss<\/strong> \u2013 The death of an animal companion whose presence was a significant and daily part of your life<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\"><strong>Relationship loss<\/strong> \u2013 The end of a marriage, long-term relationship, or friendship, and everything that goes with it<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\"><strong>Ambiguous loss<\/strong> \u2013 Grieving someone who is still alive but no longer present in the same way \u2014 through dementia, estrangement, addiction, or a relationship that has fundamentally changed<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\"><strong>Loss of identity, health, or a former life<\/strong> \u2013 Grieving a version of yourself or a life you expected to have, following illness, disability, or a major life shift<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Grief doesn&#8217;t always look like sadness. It can present as anger, numbness, exhaustion, physical symptoms, difficulty concentrating, or a feeling of going through the motions. It can also come in waves \u2014 feeling manageable one day, and completely overwhelming the next.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">At Singapore Counselling Centre, our counsellors offer a compassionate, unhurried space to process your grief and loss in whatever form it takes. We don&#8217;t believe in rushing grief or offering easy reassurances.
