Counselling Policies<\/h3>

Confidentiality<\/h3>\n

All information disclosed within sessions and the written records pertaining to those sessions are confidential and may not be revealed to anyone without your (client’s) written permission, except where disclosure is required by law.<\/p>\n

Where Disclosure is Required by Law<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Some of the circumstances where disclosure is required by the Law are:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Where there is reasonable suspicion of child, dependent or elder abuse or neglect,<\/li>\n
  • Where a client presents a danger to self, others, to property, or<\/li>\n
  • Where a client is gravely disabled<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    Where Disclosure May Be Required
    \n<\/strong><\/h5>\n
      \n
    • Abuse of Children and Vulnerable Adults<\/strong>
      \nIf a client states or suggests that he or she is abusing or has recently abused a child (or vulnerable adult), or a child (or vulnerable adult) is in danger of abuse, the counsellor is required to report this information to the appropriate Social Service and\/or legal authorities<\/li>\n
    • Prenatal Exposure to Controlled Substances<\/strong>
      \nCounsellors are required to report admitted prenatal exposure to controlled substances that are potentially harmful<\/li>\n
    • Court Report and Legal Issues<\/strong>
      \nIf the client tells the counsellor that he or she has broken the law (e.g. stealing, break and entry, property damage, physical assault, etc.) and does not want others to know, the information will have to be reported to the relevant people and authorities. If a written request comes from the legal body, the information will also have to be released to them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The counsellor and the client shall not hold any videotaping and\/or audio recording during any session without the prior consent of both parties.<\/p>\n

      If you are attending this session under your company\u2019s Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) with Singapore Counselling Centre, please note that for transparency and billing purposes, a usage report may<\/em> be submitted to your organisation at the end of each month. This report, sent to the designated HR Director or Manager, will only reflect your name, the counsellor\u2019s name, and the date of sessions conducted. No other information will be shared with your organisation unless written consent is provided by you.<\/p>\n

      Depending on your company\u2019s engagement with SCC, HR may request for different forms of utilisation reports for transparency and billing purposes. Please check with your HR team directly on the nature and format of the report they have requested.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

      Please note that, to ensure continuity of care and efficient scheduling, authorized support staff may assist in relaying messages or resources on behalf of our counsellors. However, only your assigned counsellor and necessary administrative staff will have access to this email communication, and your privacy will be strictly protected.<\/p>\n

      Please note that with the exception of the above cases when required by law, the Singapore Counselling Centre does not provide progress reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Right to Refuse Service<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      We reserve the right to decline or discontinue services to any client at our discretion, including but not limited to situations where it is determined that the therapeutic relationship, mutual trust, or professional boundaries have been compromised. This decision will be made with the best interests of both the client and the organization in mind, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all parties.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n

      <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

      Responsibility for Action<\/h3>\n

      All inputs given during the counselling-therapy sessions are for the client\u2019s consideration and decision only. The client will be responsible for making the decisions and acting on them to address the issues. All implementation decisions will be made personally by the client. No one else will be held responsible for the decisions made by the client.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n

      Payment and Refund Policy<\/h3>\n

      The payment for the counselling session will be collected before the start of the counselling session. Clients will not be allowed to begin the counselling session if payment has not been made. All payments are non-refundable once the session commences.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n

      <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

      Cancellation Policy<\/h3>\n

      If you are unable to turn up for your confirmed counselling appointment, please inform SCC\u00a0at least 48 hours in advance<\/strong>\u00a0by phone<\/strong>. A full fee will be charged for missed appointments or no-show cancellations done after the 48-hour time frame.
