Type of Counselling: Child/Youth, Individual Adult, Couple
Suzanna has provided counselling to youths, adults, parents, couples, families, seniors from diverse backgrounds and major life transitions. Having the privilege to listen to a myriad of issues shared by clients, Suzanna appreciates how developmental attachments and derailment can impact ones’ intrapsychic and relational patterns unconsciously. But when individuals and families are given a nurturing and safe space to uncover insights and meaning of their own life narratives in counselling, they begin to find healing, wholeness, and hope to journey on the next chapter of their life.
Suzanna believes that the strength of families depends on the well-being of individuals and the couple relationships within the family. She thus enjoys giving both individual therapy which focuses on one’s intrapsychic, giftedness and self-actualization, as well as marital & family therapy which examines the interrelationships, context and rules among members that perpetuate problems. Her heart is especially drawn to individuals and families with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, abuse/neglect trauma, poor self-concept, relational issues, and emotional & mental health problems.
Prior to her career switch, Suzanna worked in the IT industry across government and private sectors for 19 years, holding a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the Nanyang Technological University. Her last corporate position was a project director. These corporate experiences helped Suzanna to better empathise and help the PMETs’ work stressors and needs.
