Aileen Kwa
Professional Counsellor
Language Spoken: English
Type of Counselling: Individual Adult, Couple, Family
Offering a blend of warmth and expertise, Aileen Kwa supports individuals, couples, parents and their adult children in cultivating connection, growth, and meaningful change. She is a Marriage and Family Therapist (Daybreak University, USA) and an Advanced Imago Relationship Therapist.
Drawing from a range of approaches—including attachment theory, inner child work, trauma reprocessing, Imago theory, Emotional Freedom Technique, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and the Enneagram—Aileen works with individuals to uncover patterns shaped by early experiences, bring healing to these patterns, and support the creation of more empowering ways of being.
With couples, she is particularly passionate about helping partners deepen their connection and cultivate conscious awareness of their relational dynamics. She gently guides them to transform frustrations into opportunities for healing and growth, restoring appreciation, connection, and safety in the relationship.
Aileen also enjoys working with parents and their adult children. Facilitating dialogue between them in a way that ensures emotional safety can be deeply healing, with the potential to rebuild trust and reshape the quality and trajectory of their relationship.
Aileen believes that our healthy, secure selves are already innate and remarkably resilient. The task, she says, is to identify what’s getting in the way—and to provide the right environment and support for this secure self to emerge. She thus places great importance on offering a space of connection, presence, and attunement to allow healing to naturally unfold.
